Norman Armitage, CPA, CA - Licensed Insolvency Trustee

Norm received his designation as a Chartered Accountant in 1964 and joined Crawford, Smith and Swallow one year later. He was licensed as a Trustee in Bankruptcy in 1971. Norm offers his clients personal and corporate accounting, taxation and advisory services, as well as personal and corporate insolvency services.

Lyte Aston, CPA, CGA, CIRP - Licensed Insolvency Trustee

Lyte graduated from the University of Toronto in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She successfully completed the Certified General Accountant designation in 2000 and obtained her license as a Trustee in Bankruptcy in 2004. Lyte has worked in the insolvency field for over 20 years gaining extensive experience on both corporate and personal engagements. She worked as a manager on large corporate bankruptcies, receiverships, CCAA’s and insurance company liquidations during her employment with a national accounting firm. She has also been employed as an accountant in the finance group for a multinational human resources firm. Prior to joining Crawford, Smith & Swallow Inc., Lyte was employed by a dynamic Toronto-based personal insolvency firm where she had the opportunity to work on a wide range of personal and mid-sized engagements. She joined Crawford Smith Swallow in June of 2008 offering a full range of insolvency services to both individual and company debtors. This includes consulting and advising on a wide range of financial situations to distressed individuals.

Ryan Cliffe, BA, MBA, CIRP - Licensed Insolvency Trustee

For the past 10 years, Ryan has worked with consumers and businesses in resolving financial difficulties. His range of financial restructuring experience includes bankruptcy, formal proposals to creditors, informal settlements, advisory services and acting on behalf of secured lenders (Receivership).

Ryan’s portfolio of mandates generally consist of consumer filings as well as small to medium sized commercial filings and advisory services to industries such as manufacturing, retail, professional, as well as assisting individuals and businesses negotiate tax liabilities with the Canada Revenue Agency.

Before entering into the financial recovery industry and obtaining a license as a Trustee in Bankruptcy, Ryan spent several years in management roles in the service industry as well as the aerospace manufacturing industry. Accordingly, he combines practical (real-life) industry experience along with formal training and expertise in financial restructuring which better serves stakeholders, who often have limited understanding of the complexity of the insolvency process.

Carmen Esau

Carmen graduated from Brock University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She is an insolvency estate manager and a CAIRP qualified insolvency counsellor. Carmen offers debt resolution solutions primarily to consumers, and is available to meet clients at all of our locations throughout the Niagara region. She resides in St. Catharines with her husband and three children.
